University of Gezira

The University of Gezira was established in 1975 in Wad Madni City in central Sudan. The university is close to one of the biggest agricultural projects in Africa--the Gezira Project. The school's main objective is to supply the project with high-calibre graduates. It is considered to be one of the leading universities in Sudan. It has a community-oriented educational model.

University of Gadarif

The University of Gadarif (also called Gedaref, Gedarif or El Gadarif) is a public university in the town of Al Qadarif, capital of the state of Al Qadarif in Sudan. The university was founded in 1990. Faculties include Medicine and Health Sciences, Computer Science and Information Technology, Economics and Administrative Sciences, Agricultural and Environmental, Education and Sharia and Islamic Studies.

Sudan University of Science and Technology

The establishment of Sudan University goes back deep into the modern history of Sudan, during the early stages of education development in the country. Starting with Khartoum Technical School (KTI), and then the Trade School in 1902, the Radiology School in 1932, the Art School in 1946, Khartoum Technical Institute in 1950, Shambat Agricultural Institute in 1954, the Institute of Music and Theater and finally the High Institute for Physical Education for Teachers.

Upper Nile University

Upper Nile University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Khartoum and established in 1994. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, South Sudan, Upper Nile University (UNU) is a coeducational higher education institution. it offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study.

University of Bahr El Ghazal

University of Bahrl El-Ghazal is one of the five established public institution of learning in the Republic of South Sudan. It worth mentioning that the establishment of the universities did not occur synchronously, but at different times. University of Juba the oldest among them all was established in 1975/1976, while Bahr El-Ghazal and Upper Nile Universities were simultaneously established in 1991. Rumbek University got off the ground in 2008 and Dr John Garang Memorial University 2009.

Catholic University of South Sudan

The Catholic University of South Sudan represents a dream long deferred. In 1983, the late Pope John Paul II spoke with then President J. M. Nimeiry about a Catholic University in the Sudan. In 2003, on the occasion of the canonization of Daniel Comboni, the Holy Father again raised the issue of a Catholic University and encouraged the Bishops to establish a University. University of Juba
