Africa University

Africa University is a "private, Pan-African and United Methodist-related institution." In 2021 it had over 2,500 students from 31 African countries, of whom 58 percent were women and 24 percent came from outside Zimbabwe
The development of Africa University is a consequence of the growth of United Methodism in Africa. The growth in membership and the emerging socio-economic and political needs in their countries led the African Bishops of the United Methodist Church (UMC) to call on their Church to invest in higher education provision in Africa.
 

Chinhoyi University of Technology

The Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) started as a degree program that was established under the auspices of the University of Zimbabwe (UZ) in 1999. It was established as part of the recommendation of the Chetsanga Commission to devolve Chinhoyi Technical Teachers College and other similar colleges into degree granting institutions. This process saw the birth of the Chinhoyi Degree programmes offering two degree programmes that is, Production Engineering and Hospitality and Tourism.

Great Zimbabwe University

Great Zimbabwe University, then known as Masvingo State University, was established through the recommendations of the Chetsanga Report of August 1995 which proposed the devolution of Teachers and Technical Colleges into degree awarding institutions that would eventually become universities in their own right. Lupane State University

Lupane State University The university was established through an act of the Zimbabwe parliament in 2004 and opened its doors to 14 pioneer students in the faculty of Agricultural Sciences in August 2005. The expansion of university education in Zimbabwe is part of government policy adopted at the onset of independence.

Marondera University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology

Marondera University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (MUAST) was established through an Act (Chapter 25:29) of Parliament in 2015 and its mandate is Agricultural Sciences and Technology. It is the only fully fledged Agricultural University in Zimbabwe. MUAST operates from three campuses namely, Dozmery Campus, which is about 40 km from Marondera town, Cold Storage Commission (CSC) Campus in Marondera town, and Marondera Campus

Midlands State University

Midlands State University is a government owned university in Zimbabwe. The university has 9 faculties offering a wide variety of courses and many specialist programmes. The university is accredited through the National Council for Higher Education, under the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education of Zimbabwe.

University of Zimbabwe

The University of Zimbabwe is a public university in Harare, Zimbabwe. It opened in 1952 as the University College of Rhodesia and Nyasaland, and was initially affiliated with the University of London. It was later renamed the University of Rhodesia, and adopted its present name upon Zimbabwe's independence in 1980

Women's University in Africa

WUA is a private institution that was co-founded by two visionaries Professor Hope Cynthia Sadza, a former Public Service Commissioner and Dr Fay King Chung the former Minister of Education in Zimbabwe.  It was established in 2002 and granted a Charter by the Government of Zimbabwe in 2004, (Statutory Instrument 130 of 2004).  It is currently operating from its head office located at 549 Arcturus Road, Manresa Park, Harare.
