The University of Science and Technology of Masuku was created in 1986 in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 7/85 and by the transfer, from Libreville to Franceville, of the Faculty of Sciences, of the National Higher School of Engineers of Libreville (ENSIL), now Masuku Polytechnic School (EPM). It was financed by the Gabonese Investment Fund with assistance from the Saudi Development Fund, the Islamic Development Bank and the French Republic. This university complex was inaugurated on December 30 by the late President of the Republic, Head of State His Excellency EL hadj Omar Bongo ONDIMBA
